Vinosha Abigail Thevarajah, Founder of Theva Law

From an early age, Vinosha was drawn to the legal profession and envisioned a career where she could apply her advocacy skills to make an impact. She began shaping this vision at age 16 by working at a boutique law firm, gaining early exposure to the demands and rewards of legal practice.

Vinosha went on to complete her Honours Degree in Psychology from York University and entered the Common Law Program at the University of Ottawa in 2012, being called to the Ontario Bar in 2016. Her career includes valuable experience at two Toronto-based boutique personal injury firms and as corporate counsel for Sears Canada Inc. in downtown Toronto before she launched her own practice.

Specializing in residential real estate, wills and estates, small business law, short- and long-term disability, and family law, Vinosha is a skilled negotiator who values building meaningful relationships with her clients. She is proud to serve clients in both Tamil and English.

Vinosha also teaches Medical-Legal Ethics to medical students and international doctors at Medskool Reviews as they work toward Canadian medical licensing. She is an active member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario bar Association, and the South Asian Bar Association. She serves as an executive board member of the Tamil Bar Association and the Women’s Committee for the Canadian Tamil Chamber of Commerce.

Outside the office, Vinosha enjoys spending time with her family, discovering new foods, and exploring new places. She is deeply passionate about mentoring young professionals and giving back to her community. A devoted believer in Christ, Vinosha credits her journey and success entirely to her faith. She finds joy and purpose in serving and advancing the Kingdom of God through her home church, C3 Toronto.

Senior Law Clerk

With over 15 years of legal experience, Stephanie Bascur brings both skill and heart to her work at Theva Law. Fluent in Spanish, she takes pride in connecting with clients from diverse backgrounds and ensuring they feel informed and supported throughout every step of their legal matter.
Stephanie has extensive experience in real estate law and civil litigation matters, where her empathy, compassion, and attention to detail help clients navigate complex processes with confidence and care. Her calm and understanding nature make her a valued part of the Theva Law team.
Outside of the office, Stephanie enjoys spending quality time with her family, discovering new cuisines, and tuning in to her favourite true crime and murder mystery podcasts.​

Oviya Sugunakumar
Articling Student

Oviya completed her LL.B (Hons) at the University of Sussex in Brighton, England, and holds a B.A. (Hons) from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Oviya is passionate, driven, and dedicated to building a meaningful career in law. Her academic and professional journey reflects a strong commitment to advocacy, client service, and continuous learning. She has a keen interest in real estate, wills and estates, and family law, and takes pride in approaching each matter with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail.
